In the 90s, the main comic book publisher was Abril, but another major publisher had a bold editorial line, with a more luxurious format and a curation aimed at a more adult audience: Editora Globo.
Amidst adaptations of country music duos and TV presenters, two projects stood out for their undeniable quality: Sandman and Akira. Both would become legendary titles in the readers' imagination and served to open doors for Vertigo and manga.
