*UPDATE MARCH 2026*
There is a Spout2 wrapper plugin that allows you to use it with VTube Studio & Veadotube, go to https://spout2pw.lina.yt/ or https://github.com/hoshinolina/spout2pw/ to learn more!

An unedited, mildly scuffed video showing viewers how to setup their Bazzite Linux to stream games. Overall this is not very hard, but some patience will be needed, because this is one of those edge case uses of Linux. While these steps were done on Bazzite Linux, I am confident it should all, or nearly all, work the same for any other Linux version that has Flatpak support.

Timestamps below:

00:00 - Start
09:49 - OBS Studio (install via Flatpak)
12:06 - OBS-VkCapture plugin (install via Flatpak)
You DO NOT need to install WebSocket Server Legacy, my bad!
14:10 - Stream Controller (install via Flatpak)
16:31 - Differences between Windows OBS and Linux OBS (scuffed)
You DO NOT need to install WebSocket Server Legacy, my bad!
18:05 - Stream Controller (setup - scuffed)
Note: I had to add a fake deck for the demo, you will not need to do this
Note: I belive the VM internal networking screwed up the OBS websocket connections, it will work fine for you. Please do not disable websocket authentication!
27:27 - OBS Game capture demo (using VTube Studio) via Steam launch options & global Linux option (also scuffed)
44:02 - VTube Studio transparency setup
48:20 - VTS API Setup & Stream Controller tinkering
51:52 - More differences between Windows OBS and Linux OBS
56:03 - PipeWire Audio Capture OBS Plugin (install via https://github.com/dimtpap/obs-pipewi...)
01:14:21 - Veadotube Mini
01:32:26 - OpenDeck (scuffed as heck)

A big thank you to @morknag for finding out that using "FlatSeal", you can disable the "Wayland windowing system", which will allow you to get the Twitch and custom browser docks back!

Game Capture:
Steam local: OBS_VKCAPTURE=1 %command%
Global: Open the file "/etc/environment", type in the line below, save the file, then log out and back in:
OBS_VKCAPTURE=1

Once this is running, you will now be able to add a "Game Capture" source in OBS that operates just like it does in Windows, and should capture any game running in Steam (and some that do not), which use Vulkan, OpenGL, or DXVK for video rendering. You will also be able to get application audio capture functionality much like the "win-capture-audio" plugin source in Windows.

For people using Veadotube Mini, you'll have to run the following command, either via the terminal or a shortcut icon, so it can be properly captured in OBS:
obs-gamecapture /path/to/veadotube-mini
