TOP 5 PRO TIPS FOR DURABLE & SMOOTH WALL PLASTERING
https://yt.openinapp.co/d0xhx
TIP 1: WET THE WALL BEFORE PLASTERING
"Freshly built brick walls tend to absorb water from mortar quickly, weakening the bond. Always spray water to moisten the surface just before applying plaster!"
TIP 2: USE CLEAN SAND – AVOID DIRTY OR SEA SAND
Sea sand contains salt that corrodes steel and causes wall deterioration. Do not use dirty sand. Always choose clean, debris-free sand and sift it through a mesh to meet the required fineness and remove impurities.
TIP 3: MIX MORTAR IN THE RIGHT RATIO
If the mortar is too dry, it cracks; if too wet, it becomes weak. Standard ratio: 1 part cement – 3 parts sand – and enough water to achieve a workable consistency. You can also follow the recommended mixing ratio printed on the cement bag.
TIP 4: APPLY PLASTER IN 2 LAYERS – BASE & FINISH
Two layers improve adhesion and reduce peeling or blistering. The base layer should be rough, and the finish layer smooth. Important: NEVER use dried mortar to patch over the wall surface.
TIP 5: KEEP THE WALL MOIST AFTER PLASTERING
About 24 hours after plastering, water the wall at least 2–3 times a day for around 3 days. This prevents cracking and ensures long-term structural durability.
