In early spring, Andrena nigroaenea is one of the first solitary bee species to appear on Rathlin, and perhaps the most numerous. They can be found in multiple locations close to the harbour, where they are often seen feeding on Dandelions and Daisies on sunny days. These clips show the larger, densely furry females, and the slimmer and more fluffy males with their distinctly longer antennae.
