To transport escalators to Sydney Metro Pitt Street Station
The escalators are split into segments and delivered one by one to the site
Forklifts move the escalator segments from the truck into the site
The escalators are between 19m and 38.5m long
The station is located below Pitt and Castlereagh streets
The escalator segments are positioned in place using a hoist and rigging machinery
They weigh between 10.5 tonnes and 19.5 tonnes
The escalators took two crews and 120 hours to install
Pitt Street Station is one of seven new stations that will open in 2024 as part of Sydney Metro City & Southwest
The station serves Sydney's southern CBD including retail areas on George and Pitt streets
Customers will travel up to 20 metres below ground for fast and reliable metro services, with access to a train every four minutes in each direction
A metro trip from Pitt Street will take customers to Central Station in 2 minutes and Victoria Cross Station in North Sydney in 7 minutes
