A friend of mine has been wanting to own a Theraphosa stirmi (Burgundy Goliath Bird eater) tarantula for quite some time, so we headed over to the pet store to check some specimens out. Just like me, he’s looking for a female specimen.. but unfortunately, the genders were all undetermined. So the next best thing we could do was to try looking at the spider’s ventral side.. and how are we gonna do that? Well, the better question is; How is my friend gonna do that? - GRAB THE SPIDER, OF COURSE !
p/s Goliath Bird eater tarantulas may look intimidating, but they do not have potent-enough venom to kill a human being. I don’t think it’s even potent enough to put someone in the hospital, considering my friend had gotten bitten by them before.
