In my garden thunderstorm with hail broke all the big seedlings of tomatoes in half. after that I decided to make a covering that would protect the tomatoes from heavy rain and hail.
Even after the usual rain, the tomatoes under this roof remain dry, and this is of great importance for the prevention of tomatoes from phytophthora.
I also plan to put this roof over the cucumbers.
Cucumbers also fall ill from direct rain.
The design of this roof is very simple, consists of vertical and horizontal wooden slats.
Vertical risers need to be driven into the ground to a sufficient depth so that they stand securely.
I fastened the slats to each other with ordinary screws.
I made the roof out of plastic PET sheets.
They are also attached to the slats by conventional screws.
Instead of polyethylene sheets (PET) you can take polycarbonate, as well as plastic wrap.
