Glabius, the initial spouse of Octavia, meets a tragic fate orchestrated by Atia's command, resulting in his demise at the hands of Timon. Although hailing from a wealthy noble lineage, Glabius lacks political clout. Nevertheless, his name resonates with influential figures such as Caesar and Pompey, aligning him politically with Pompey's faction.
Initially introduced in a social gathering alongside Octavia, Glabius becomes a complication when Atia schemes to betroth Octavia to Pompey. Atia maneuvers Octavia into divorcing Glabius, falsely implicating Caesar in the separation. Displaying vulnerability, Glabius pleads for Octavia's retention outside their residence, earning scorn from Atia. Despite Octavia's yearning to reconcile with Glabius after Pompey's rejection, Atia intervenes, asserting Octavia's potential for a more influential union.
In a desperate attempt to reclaim Octavia's affection, Glabius intrudes into Atia's household, only to be apprehended. Despite their clandestine rendezvous in brothels, Atia uncovers their liaison through Merula's surveillance. Subsequently, Atia dispatches Timon to eliminate Glabius, who, in his final moments, realizes Atia's treachery. Glabius' lifeless body is delivered to Atia's residence, eliciting despair from Octavia and ire from Atia.
