Alatau and Holstein breeds: diet, maintenance, and the secret to high milk yields | Mamed, Baiser...
As part of AgroCaravan, our team visited two more dairy production facilities.
First, we visited the Mamed farm, which raises 470 head of Alatau cattle, 240 of which are dairy cows. The main challenge the farm faces is the lack of available land for growing feed. Only with its own irrigated land can it meet its demand for succulent feed at an affordable cost. However, in 2020, the farm lost most of its land, which it had leased for 11 consecutive years. Nevertheless, the farm continues to operate, meeting its needs by purchasing 70% of its feed.
Next, we visited one of the leading dairy farms in Kazakhstan, Baiserke Agro. To increase milk yield, they've already provided the right diet for 750 Holstein cows, 350 of which are dairy cattle. According to Marlen Umarov, the dairy farm's manager, they've paid special attention to cattle management and digitalization.
By the way, the average milk yield per head is over 32 liters. But that's not the limit. Watch the new video to learn more about the company's plans and the results it hopes to achieve.
