Turkish Simple Present Tense is being explained with example sentences in details. In Turkish we call this tense as "Geniş Zaman" and it uses the suffix "-r". In this lesson, your native speaker Teacher will teach you how to conjugate verbs in simple present tense! You have been learning Turkish with me for a while now, learned most of the basic expressions, introducing yourself, asking questions, learned adjectives and adverbs in Turkish. Now it is time for Tenses in Turkish. Let's learn Turkish grammar, learn the Tenses. You will also enhance your Turkish vocabulary with this lesson.

In Turkish tenses are divided into two; Simple Tenses and Compound Tenses. We will continue with Simple Tenses today. You have learnt Present Continuous Tense (Simdiki Zaman) with me and now it is time to learn another Tense which is very important, Present Simple Tense, called as "Genis Zaman" in Turkish. You will recognise it from the suffix "-r". I believe you now know the Vowel Harmony by heart, because this suffix, according to that, can change to "-ir, -ir, -er, -ar".

In this video I will again remind you on the Turkish Vowel Harmony since it will make easy to understand how suffixes are changing. I sincerely recommend you to learn Vowel and Consonant Harmony at the beginning of your journey as it will make you to avoid memorising loads of things as you will know the main reason for everything. I have mentioned before Turkish Language is like mathematics, most things has a reason and it develops with "+ es". Agglutinative language it is!
