We use some premium Saffron (in Persian that is Zaferan or زعفران ) to flavor the eggs in this version of French Toast. The Safron adds a wonderful flavor and color to the finished dish. For the bread, we used some stale rolls. We just cut them into bite sized pieces and they did a great job of soaking up all that golden deliciousness. Finish the dish with a bit of powdered sugar (we could really use a sifter I know!), some fresh cherries and of course you can't forget some real Canadian pure Maple Syrup. Sunday mornings should always be so good!!
