Ruston Hornsby 8PB first start and 6PB flywheel removal
last year I purchased a job lot of 16 stationary engines which included this Ruston PB8. the previous owner had been deceased for a couple of years and the engine had been partially dismantled (flywheels we're removed)
I polished up the crank shaft using a flap wheel on an angle grinder and pushed the flywheels back on using lots of oil. The back cover was removed and all the internal parts were sprayed with fresh oil.
The Ruston PB6 is going to be fully restored and mounted on a trolley that I built to hold my water pump. The plan is to strip all of the paint off and apply craft master Ruston green paint hence the need to remove the flywheel.
