Replacing suspended floor timber / Timber decay
Here we have a very old original floor with original timbers. Over a period of time the timbers had suffered a from decay. Due to the age to the timbers, it was necessary to remove all the original timber floorboards and support joists, this was the only way to deal with the severity of the problem. We then reinstated the timbers with a new central support beam. We also incorporated a new solid hearth and sourced new floor planks, which were close to the originals. It was very important to our customer to maintain the look of the original wood floor.
