CrankyBike is all about the bike and the world cycling opens your mind up too. It’s not just about the bike... Hahaha
, no it’s all about the bike! Cycling takes on many forms; mountain biking, road biking, cyclocross, gravel, touring and my newest addiction, bike camping! CrankyBike also manages to work through upgrades and tries out a few bike hacks as well. So, CrankyBike is not about being cranky... well sort of.

Have you ever have one of those days where everything you try fails? Well today I have an epic fail video for you! Adjusting rear derailleurs is no joke when you’ve done a 1x conversion and do not change every component.

Adjusting Rear Derailleurs can be an easy thing to do, but most generally is a pain in the ass! Todays video is a true assessment of rear derailleur adjustment pain in the ass! You will witness in today’s video three different ways to try and adjust rear derailleurs.

The first adjustment is the B-Screw. Pretty simple process. All you do is tighten down the screw until there is about 3mm between the pulley and the largest cog. In my case today, I would torque the screw down and still could not get enough space between the pulley and the cog.

The second adjustment was to try and shorten the cable housing and see if that would relieve tension on the derailleur. Of course, after cutting off an inch of housing (which I had to go through three different tools to finally get the housing cut), the derailleur pulley still had contact with the largest cog.

Finally, the third adjustment was to remove a couple of links from the chain. Another epic fail... I first removed two links and still no change. Decided to go ahead and remove one more... Still no luck! That’s it! It’s time for a new updated derailleur. That will be for another video.

I hope you liked this video. If you did, please smash that like button and give it a thumbs up!

Thank you for watching today and get out there and adventure on a path less traveled!
