We're taking a closer look at the Cgo-free bindings for the Tk GUI toolkit for Go published recently by modernc and discuss their strengths and weaknesses. It's a bit longer video because I lay out some of the advanced features of Tk text editors and talk a bit about the history of Tcl/Tk. The bindings are a good choice for a quick GUI for desktop on Linux, MacOS, and Windows. However, the API is a bit quirky with lots of uses of the empty interface, and the documentation often refers to the Tcl/Tk pages for more information. It is easy for people who know Tcl/Tk but takes some efforts and experimentation if you're new to the toolkit.
