HOW TO SET UP YOUR MICROPHONE ON DISCORD (PC AND LAPTOP) ⚙️✅️

First, log in to your Discord account. In my case, I'm already in Discord. Now, you'll find the little gear at the bottom, which is the user settings. Clicking on it will take you to the settings.
Within the settings, scroll down and look for the voice and video option. Clicking on it will open the tab where you configure your microphone. The microphone I'm using for recording is already displayed here, and it's also displayed in OBS.
The first step is to choose the input device, which in my case is the Fini microphone. Next, you choose the output device, which is where you'll hear other people's voices. I leave it set to my speaker, but if you have headphones or headsets, you can select yours here.
The input voice is where you speak, and the output is where you listen. Below, there's an option to test the microphone. When you click to test, it will show you if your microphone is working properly. As you speak, the bar will rise and show you if the volume is good or too low.
Here, you adjust the volume of the sound effects. I usually leave it at 40 percent. In input mode, you can choose whether you want the microphone to always be open or if you want to press a key to speak. If you leave it on automatic, whenever you speak, your voice will be broadcast to your friends. If you prefer, you can set it to press a key and only speak when you press it. It's a matter of taste.
You adjust the microphone sensitivity here. If the microphone is too low, you can increase the sensitivity. I recommend leaving it at minus thirty or minus fifty because leaving it at zero can cause a lot of hiss. This depends on the microphone.
Down here, you'll find echo cancellation. It's important to leave it enabled to prevent sound from bouncing back. For noise cancellation, you can leave it at default or none. Personally, I leave it at none, but I didn't see much difference between the options. For automatic microphone control, it's also a good idea to leave it enabled.
These are the main settings you need to adjust on your microphone within Discord. You can increase or decrease the sensitivity and volume of the voice input so your microphone is louder or quieter, depending on what's best for you and your listeners.
