OBIHAI 202 VOIP/SIP: Disassembly, Review, Configuration
OBIHAI 202 VOIP SIP phone adapter router disassembly, review, and configuration.
Simple to use single board device. Runs warm to the touch at 101F.
Supports, in addition to their own service, standard voip SIP protocol.
In this example I'm configuring it to run on voip.ms service.
First you may want to update the device by picking up the phone plugged in to phone port 1 and dialing *** then 6 and it will update the device which takes about five minutes or so. Assuming you've already plugged in the "internet" port to your existing router.
Press *** again and then 1 and your phone reads out its DHCP assigned IP address.
By default the web interface is disabled. Enable it: press *** on your phone. Then 0, 30#. Press 1 to enable and 1 again to save. Hang up.
Now you can put the SIP adapter's IP in your web browser and log in with user: admin and password: admin.
Configure your device
You may want to disable the following:
Click "system management", then "auto provisioning", "auto firmware update", "method" and disable feature.
Click "system management", then "auto provisioning", "ITSP provisioning", "method" and disable it too.
Click "system management", then "auto provisioning", "OBiTALK provisioning", "method" and then disable.
Last disable this: click: "voice services", "OBiTALK Service", uncheck the "enable" box.
Configure port:
Click "service providers", "ITSP Profile A", "General" and fill out your username (from your service provider).
Click "service providers", "ITSP Profile A", "SIP". Change "Proxy Server" and "Registrar Server". For me its "newyork2.voip.ms". For you, you'll have to find out from your provider.
Go to "voice services", "SP1 Service" and fill out username and password provided by your voip service not the OBI device.
If you have trouble accessing voicemail by voip.ms for example where you dial *97.
Click "service providers", "ITSP Profile A", "General" and find "DigitMap" replace it with this:
(1xxxxxxxxxx|LT1999GT[2-9]xxxxxx|LT1GT[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|011xx.|xx.|*xx.|(Mipd)|[^*]@@.)
Youtube won't let me save greater-than and less-than symbols so replace LT with the less-than symbol ( a little bracket that points to the left) and replace GT with the greater-than symbol ( a little bracket that points to the right).
After you done all that and rebooted you'll dial *97 and notice instead of getting a busy signal, you'll get silence. Hang up and dial *97#. You may want to program that into your speed dial.
