Supernatural exorcist and demonologist John Constantine helps a policewoman prove her sister's death was not a suicide, but something more.The film stars Keanu Reeves as John Constantine, a cynical exorcist with the ability to perceive and communicate with half-angels and half-demons in their true forms and to travel between Earth and Hell. Rachel Weisz, Shia LaBeouf, Tilda Swinton, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Djimon Hounsou, Gavin Rossdale, and Peter Stormare also feature in Constantine 2005.
Constantine 2, the sequel to Keanu Reeves' 2005 film, is still in development, with director Francis Lawrence and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman returning. There have been few updates about Constantine 2, but a fan trailer imagines the story continuing years after the original, with Alexandra Daddario as Zatanna. There is uncertainty about the status of Constantine 2, as it may have been quietly canceled, but there is speculation about incorporating the character into the DC Universe. Keanu Reeves reprises the role of John Constantine in a new Constantine 2 trailer 2025 as he takes on a new supernatural threat. Despite coming out in 2005, Reeves' Constantine franchise is seemingly moving forward as a sequel is in the works based on DC's Hellblazer. In September 2022, it was announced that Constantine 2 is in development, with director Francis Lawrence coming back to direct the sequel while Akiva Goldsman is returning to pen the screenplay.
