Mixing PAL and NTSC signals through the Glitch CRT results in new and interesting glitching artifacts. Here I am using two static images (one from an NES title screen [via a tymkrs h2a module], and one from a computer [via a tymkrs h2a module]. I am then changing the switch on the h2a modules to change them between PAL and and NTSC output mode. In each of the setting combinations I am adjusting the balance between the two signals on the Glitch CRT's front dials.
Video Source 1 – Image of Whisker’s mascot displayed on a laptop. The laptop is connected to the Tymkrs H2A Eurorack Module. The composite output of the H2A is connected to the GlitchCRT Composite A input. The module has a switch on the back which allowed us to change it from an NTSC signal to a PAL signal and vice versa!
Video Source 2 – Image from @vigreytech’s Rabbit Hole NES cartridge. The HDMI output was connected to the Tymkrs H2A Eurorack Module. The composite output of the H2A is connected to the GlitchCRT Composite B input. The module has a switch on the back which allowed us to change it from an NTSC signal to a PAL signal and vice versa!
The glitched output was sent via the Tymkrs A2H Eurorack Module to our streaming device!
The custom song written by @atdiy and @whixr looks like it matches the glitches really well, but the glitches are in fact completely natural and not at all impacted by the music!
