In Belarus, people don't joke about politics anymore. Comedians are leaving or trying not to return to the country, since any joke about Lukashenko or the regime can now land you in jail. In Warsaw, we met with a comedian from Minsk, Alexander Kalinkin. In Belarus, he worked as a pharmacist, and in the evenings he did stand-up comedy. The situation in Belarus forced Alexander to leave the country. After moving to Poland, the guy joined the @standuppoland project and now boldly makes fun of the situation in Belarus and Poland.
