The head of Instagram Adam Mosseri posted an IGTV where he declared Instagram is no longer a photo sharing app as well briefly explaining what they would be focusing on video, messaging, shopping and creators. He said they will be leaning in heavy to video to compete with YouTube and Tik Tok. Instagram has been a video app for a long time, one minute videos in the feee, stories, live, IGTV and now Reels so this announcement is no surprise at all. Video engulfs images on the app already, it’s time to embrace video as a creator
