How to Use a Thatch Rake (Which Side Do You Use For What)
If you have a thatch rake or are thinking about buying one then this video is meant to help you understand what you are getting yourself into and how to use the rake properly.
Generally speaking thatch rakes are going to work well to get a lot of surface level dead material off a lawn but they will not usually do well at alleviating a thick thatch problem in dense turf lawns.
In my lawn I used a thatch rake to remove a lot of surface material in the Spring of 2020 and then moved onto a liquid thatch removal program later in the year and into 2021. It was better for my lawn and a lot easier to implement over a thatch rake... and a lot cheaper than doing a full lawn renovation.
