In this quick guide, I’ll show you the safest official way to check for Chrome updates, install the latest security patch, and relaunch Chrome so the update actually finishes.
✅ Step 1: Open Google Chrome
✅ Step 2: Click the three dots menu
✅ Step 3: Go to Help → About Google Chrome
✅ Step 4: Let Chrome check for updates automatically
✅ Step 5: Click Relaunch if the button appears
✅ Step 6: Check again later if Chrome 148 has not reached your device yet
✅ Step 7: Avoid fake Chrome updater pop-ups and unofficial download links
⚠️ Tip: Downloading the update is not always the final step. If Chrome shows a Relaunch button, click it so the security update can fully apply.
