The 2023 G20 New Delhi summit is the eighteenth meeting of G20 (Group of Twenty), a summit being held between 9 - 10 September 2023.[2] It is taking place in Bharat Mandapam International Exhibition-Convention Centre, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.[8] It is the first G20 summit held in India as well as in South Asia.
Presidency
The G20 New Delhi Summit is chaired by the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
India's presidency began on 1 December 2022, leading up to the summit in the third quarter of 2023. The presidency handover ceremony was held, in which the G20 Presidency gavel was transferred from Indonesian President Joko Widodo to Indian Prime Minister Modi at the close of the Bali summit. Indonesia held the presidency in 2022.
The Government of India budgeted Rs. 990 crore (~120 million USD) for the G20 events.[16] For the event's security, the government has deployed 130,000 security personnel including 80,000 police officers from Delhi Police.[17]
In the lead up to the G20 meeting, the Indian authorities including Archaeological Survey of India embarked on a mass demolition drive against homeless shelters and slum neighborhoods across New Delhi.[18][19][20]

All schools, offices, workplaces, marketplaces, restaurants and non-food shops were ordered to close. The movement on the roads was restricted, food deliveries were prohibited and people were advised to stay at home during this summit
Lok Nayak Hospital (Hindi: लोक नायक अस्पताल), formerly known as Irwin Hospital till November 1977, then changed to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital (LNJP)[1] in the honour of Jayaprakash Narayan, Indian independence activist and politician.[2] It is maintained and run by the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Delhi.
The history of Lok Nayak Hospital traces back to the British India when the Central Jail Complex was made to change to a hospital under the then Viceroy of India Lord Irwin. Its foundation stone was laid on 10 January 1930 and under Lt. Col. Cruickshank in 1936 this Central Jail Complex was commissioned to Irwin Hospital.[2] At that time it was a 350-bed hospital but after the 1947 independence of India there was a sudden rise in the need of more beds as there was an influx of population in form of refugees from neighboring countries and states.
In November 1977, Irwin Hospital's name was changed to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital and again in 1989 the name was changed from Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital to Lok Nayak Hospital.
