Some time ago, almost a year ago now, I was offered the chance to have a completely crazy experience: spending two weeks in Brazil filming one of the most prestigious units in the world: BOPE.
The main idea was to go to Brazil to exchange ideas, both personally and professionally, with the various operational units we would encounter there. The goal was to bring a fresh perspective to a country very different from France.
Of course, I wasn't going on this trip alone. The team included Umberto, a combat and shooting instructor. It was clearly his idea to create an exchange between Brazil, his country of origin, and us.
We also went with Joab, also Brazilian and a shooting instructor.
Joab and Umberto are good friends and share common values. He was a perfect complement to the duo he formed with Umberto for this project.
My partner was my camera. I accompanied them to document our journey, and that's what you'll see now.
