In 1971 he represented South Africa at the Athens Song Festival. He later became a record executive at CCP Records, had his own record company, Encounter, at one stage, before moving to the Steel Street Records division of EMI and then to BMG. He still lives in Johannesburg and presents a programme on LM Radio on Sunday afternoons.
