Navigating public transport as a blind person isn't just about knowing which stop to get off at; it's about sharing space with dozens of people who react in very different ways. 🦮🚌
All sorts of situations happen on the bus every day. Some people are happy to see us, but others feel uneasy, tense, or even afraid at the sight of a large dog in an enclosed space.
In the end, my guide dog, Calo, is just doing his job to ensure my safety every step of the way. However, being in such a confined space requires a lot of empathy, calm, and the ability to explain things naturally so that everyone feels comfortable.
How do you manage these kinds of situations mid-journey so that no one has a bad experience and the dog can do his job without problems? I reflect on this in today's video.
I'd like to know your opinion: Have you ever encountered a reaction like this on public transport, or how would you react? Leave your thoughts in the comments! 👇💬
