After well over 200 Hours on this save played over almost 2 years, I can say I'm finished and happy with where I am at with this mega project I started. First it was to make the massive factory at the center and have it all fully automated, but then after countless hours dealing with Biters destroying stuff, I sought to build an end-all defense like no other I've seen attempted. My solution became what I've been calling the "The Great Wall of Factorio" as it spans over a square 6000x6000 tile grid, with a perimeter of 24,000 wall-pieces, and much more used in the pattern just outside the wall to confuse and hold back attacking Biters. This took a very long time obviously, well over 100 hours spent just on the wall itself, but I finally finished it just today in time before the DLC releases tomorrow, since I know I'll want to start fresh with all the new changes. Its not perfect still, I notice it still had some bottlenecks in the main factory despite all my efforts to fix it time and time again, but it really needed a rebuild from the start. However, being my first Mega-factory I think It turned out great and it did its job at the end of the day. I'm just glad to finally be done with it, and I look forward to seeing what others may think about it.
