Autonomous Local LLM Agents: What, Why and Where?

I am currently engineering a purely local LLM agent for offline development in VS Code to solve this.
Here’s what this autonomous agent is designed to do:
• Independently control files: It can already read, identify faults, suggest patches, and write files back.
• Eliminate Subscriptions: By running locally, it removes the need for an internet connection or expensive monthly fees.
• Specialised Knowledge: The future goal includes training custom models for specific SDKs like Unity or Unreal, allowing the agent to apply sophisticated, domain-specific fixes.
To run a 14-billion parameter model like DeepSeek R1 locally, you typically need around 9–10 GB of VRAM. We are currently in the final stages of development, focusing on connecting the agent to a debugger so it can make intelligent decisions based on real-time output.
The era of truly autonomous, offline software development is arriving. 🚀
