The flu bug has graced us with its presence...gross. So, I wanted to make something that could help soothe my son's throat while he's trying to recover from it.
Ginger infused honey for the win! This recipe is super simple, and you can add more herbs and spices to it if you wish.
•Chop fresh ginger in small chunks. If you don't like chunks, then go ahead and grate your ginger. Fill jar about 1/2 to 3/4 full of your ginger and pour raw honey over your ginger just until it's all fully covered. Stir to incorporate the ginger to the honey and place a lid on. Turn it over every day to mix it around. After 3-4 days, you can strain your ginger if you wish. However, I like to keep mine in the honey so I can nibble on it.
•Ginger has antimicrobial properties in it that can help fight infections. It's great for boosting your immune system and it soothing and warming to the body.
•Honey contains antimicrobial, antibacterial, and antioxidants that can help fight off the common cold, helps with spasmodic coughing, and is gentle on the throat 🍯
•Don't use this product on children under 1 year due to a risk of infant botulism
