The coldest place on Earth is also one of the regions most affected by climate change and urgently needs protection.
ANTARCTICA – DOMAIN ONE is the seventh documentary by @GauchosdelMar, winners of 71 international awards.
Released in 2025, this expedition explores, documents and surfs through the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula, in the region known as Domain One, currently being proposed as a Marine Protected Area (MPA).
Marine Protected Areas play a crucial role in mitigating climate change and regulating human activities such as industrial fishing. Through this journey, the film aims to raise awareness about the importance of this region and the threats it faces.
Antarctica is the only continent that belongs to all humanity.
Protecting it is our responsibility.
The film is narrated in Spanish by acclaimed Argentine actor Ricardo Darín, and in English by eleven-time World Surfing Champion Kelly Slater.
