Follow these steps to install the Local Dev Server:
Step 1:
Install npm: https://nodejs.org/en/download/
Step 2:
Ensure there are no existing yarn.lock files or folders, navigate to the directory C:\Users\\{Your User Folder}\AppData\Local\sfdx
Step 3:
Run the command in Powershell. Make sure you run as an administrator: npm install --global windows-build-tools
Step 4:
Install Python 3: https://www.python.org/downloads/
Step 4:
Move all python files to the root of your hard drive. C:\Users\{Your User Folder}\.windows-build-tools
Step 5:
Make sure that build tools is installed in the folder: C:\Users\{Your User Folder}\.windows-build-tools
Step 6:
Run the command in Powershell. Make sure you run as an administrator: npm install -g node-gyp
Step 7:
Run the command in Powershell. Make sure you run as an administrator: sfdx plugins:install @salesforce/lwc-dev-server
