When I started dropshipping, I thought it was a mature business model.
My previous work experience was as a purchasing position in a company. The dropshipping work I did was to place orders to factories and pay them.
Then the factory can complete the production according to my requirements. After the acceptance is completed, the goods will be sent to the 3PL company. The agent will give me the shipping receipt, upload the waybill and complete the transportation fulfillment, and finally send it to the consumer.
But when I saw the problems encountered by dropshippers in non-China regions on Reddit and youtube in this process, I realized that the real situation is not that simple. I just didn’t realize there are so many problems because I was too familiar with the process.
The dropshipping business is actually like this.
First of all, the problem with the dropshipping business in non-China regions is that you don’t know the nature of the "supplier" you are working with. Is he the original supplier or a trading company? Are the sellers on the platform operated by the factory itself or by a third-party operator?
This question is very important. It is almost impossible to succeed in a dropshipping business without a good supplier support.
If you are an import expert and have enough experience in purchasing in China, this is not difficult for you, but how many dropshippers are like this?
So, at the beginning of establishing dropshipping, find the right supplier.
Another importance of finding the right supplier is that it can help you find unsaturated markets or establish creative work (POD or OEM)
When certain product trends appear in the market, trading companies and some non-factory sellers cannot help you find the source of the product at the first time, because they will have better profits if they sell it themselves. Basically, you can only get products in saturated markets and some low-quality white-label products from traders and these sellers.
Excellent factories can respond quickly to market needs, and cooperating with such factories is what dropshippers should do
My business idea is based on this thinking, helping dropshippers to cooperate with reliable suppliers. I will launch my website later and launch 3-5 unsaturated products every month.
I will make a form function on the website so that dropshippers can submit their purchasing needs, which can be product links on aliexprss or CJdropshipping. I will accept your needs and find similar products.
After finding or matching suppliers, I will hold meetings (depending on whether you need it), which can help you build your own brand or print your custom packaging on existing dropshipping business. Usually you need to place at least 50-100 orders before the factory is willing to do this, but I will help do this, make a packaging sample, and enhance your brand influence.
For suppliers' new niche market products, I will organize meetings, and the number of people will be limited to 30 to ensure that there will not be too many competitors in the early stage. The participants must be real dropshipping sellers verified by me.
When everything is ready, I can negotiate with the factory to develop and test the product.
So, what I do, in simple terms, is to shorten the time that drop shippers spend on product development, improve operational efficiency, and provide a stable fulfillment channel.
That's all for today. This is my first youtube video, introducing my current business. I'm currently active in the dropshipping section of reddit, where I understand the problems and pain points of this industry.
The website will be launched in mid-December with the first potential winner product. If you agree with what I'm doing, please follow my journey. Thank you
