CGAP is working on developing digital implementation assessment guidance to assess how financial service providers build value for customers and businesses through digitization. This guidance complements more comprehensive diagnostics for digital readiness and due diligence processes, allowing investors to estimate how likely digitization efforts they fund will translate into a tangible value proposition.
During this webinar, speakers presented learnings from CGAP’s research on value-driven digitization and the main elements of the digital implementation assessment guidelines. U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) recently tested an early version of the guidelines and presented results from the field testing.
Following the presentation, participants engaged in discussions on how funders can reduce the risks of failed digital implementations and incentivize financial service providers to adopt digital technology in a way that generates business and customer value. We also discussed how the digital implementation assessment guidelines can evolve to support these efforts.
