Blood flow dynamics within a human capillary network using microcapillaroscopy
This video of microcapillaroscopy shows the dynamics of blood flow within a human capillary network at 5x magnification (sample video). A healthy, 23 year old male held the nailfold of his left ring finger under a microscope lens for several seconds, while this dark-field video was recorded at a rate of 100 frames per second. No contrast agents were used. The playback rate is 30 frames per second.
