Researcher and writer Rismon Sianipar brought home a large parcel after meeting with Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday (March 12, 2026).
The parcel was given to him by Vice President Gibran as Rismon was leaving the Vice Presidential Palace following a hearing regarding the controversy surrounding allegations about the diploma of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
Rismon received the large parcel containing various snacks and household items. He even had to carry the parcel with his lawyer, Jahmada Girsang.
Rismon said he was well received during the meeting with Vice President Gibran. He noted that Jokowi's family was open to his research and corrections.
"Thank you. For the Vice President's family, the research could be wrong. But don't make it wrong," he said.
Rismon also admitted he didn't expect to receive the parcel on his way home from the meeting.
After leaving Jakarta, Rismon said he would return to his hometown of Pematangsiantar, North Sumatra. He plans to continue writing a book containing the results of his latest research regarding Jokowi's diploma controversy.
He believes writing in his hometown will allow him to focus more than working in Jakarta.
"I'll write it in my hometown, Siantar," he said.
He aims to complete the book in about a year. The book will include a complete explanation of the research he conducted on Jokowi's diploma documents.
