Marek Tatała, member of the Board and economist of Warsaw, Poland-based FOR (Civil Development Forum) sat down with the Atlas Network team to discuss how FOR fought back against his government’s disregard for property rights.
In 2014 Poland’s government seized over 48 billion dollars from its citizens’ private pension accounts to address a short-term fiscal imbalance. FOR (Civil Development Forum) played a leadership role in turning public opinion against the plan. And it is waking up those in other Eastern European countries to the dangers of nationalizing private pensions.
FOR (Civil Development Forum) is one of Atlas Network's more than 450 independent partners in over 90 countries worldwide.
