Чары есть у него, у него тишина,
У него на устах ни печаль и ни смех,
И в бездонных очах много тайных утех.
У него широки, широки два крыла,
И легки, так легки, как полночная мгла.
Не понять, как несёт, и куда, и на чём,
Он крылом не взмахнёт и не двинет плечом.
Sologub's English translation for the 'Dream':
In the world there is nothing more desirable than a dream,
It has a charm, It has silence,
It has neither sorrow nor laughter on its lips,
And in its bottomless eyes it [dream] has many secret pleasures.
It has wide, wide two wings,
That are light, so light as midnight mist
No one can understand how it carries, and where to, and what on,
It [the dream] will not flap a wing and will not move a shoulder.
