The Reina Sofia Museum is a must-see in Madrid, with 17,000 contemporary pieces of art, including Pablo Picasso's Guernica. You can look at paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, sketches, installations, and more at the Reina Sofia, which puts Spanish contemporary art in an international context. In this video, there is a focus on Juan Gris. Around the time of the war, Gris created one of his greatest works, "La Botella del Anis del Mono." The label of the Anis bottle is very noticeable in this work of art, and it had already been depicted in other cubist paintings. Robert Robenbloom's study showed that the cubist collages contained secret messages from newspapers and magazines that were inserted into the paintings. La Botella del Anis del Mono has more interpretations than any other Gris paintings.
