Eddie and Tim begin the interview discussing the shutdown and in Eddie’s opinion it’s bullish. Eddie notes the probability of a Fed rate cut in December has increased, also increasing the probability of a Santa Claus rally. Eddie discusses why he believes the Fed will pick the labor market and the economic slowdown over inflation and notes he believes the Fed will abandon the two percent goal next year.
Eddie continues the interview discussing how monetary policy affects small businesses vs. large corporations getting capital. What would be the new 2%? Eddie believes it’ll be 2.5% to 3%. In Eddie’s opinion their cutting rates proves out his thesis.
Carol moves the interview to the squeeze on workers and wages. Eddie notes the top 50% continue to do well proving out Eddie’s noting the bottom part of the K in a K shaped economy he mentioned early in the interview. Eddie and Carol bring the US debt into the discussion and Eddie explains why he believes the 10-year will go through 5%.
The interview concludes discussing what an amazing bull run it’s been but we’re in a bubble and investors should be ready to move and pivot.
