It is the important security feature available in the Layer 3 network.

ACL is a set of defined rules that Permit or Deny the traffic that pass through the Router or L3 Switch.

Rules are processed in sequence order one by one from Top to Bottom.

If one rule is matched, then further rules are not processed.

By default implicit deny is the last rule, so any traffic that does not have matching rule will be denied.

2 Types of ACL:
Standard ACL
Extended ACL

2 Types of operations performed by the ACL Rule:
Permit
Deny
