A demonstration of how the Raspberry Pi GPIO and a minimal amount of discrete electronic parts used to build a time clock and also to show other information such as date, CPU %, system load, CPU temperature, uptime and whatever your imagination comes up with.
I use six digits of 7 segment LEDs, but you can use more sophisticated circuitry to control more digits or even LCD panels.
Since I'm demonstrating GPIO I only used a bunch of wires, some resistors, and 6 bi-polar NPN transistors and six 7-segment LEDs. They're actually three double digit 7-segment LEDs.
