► The #Topping #DX1 USB DAC uses an updated chip from Asahi Kasei: AK4493S. The device supports music playback up to 32 bit 384 kHz and native DSD256. It is powered directly from USB.
Summing up, the stationary #DAC with headphone amplifier Topping DX1 looks very decent, has almost pocket dimensions, eats quite moderately, which means you can even use it with a smartphone, has two different-sounding headphone outputs, linear RCA, switching gain and a nice slightly tight level control. It is really a pleasure to use it, and this kid sounds quite serious, much more interesting than the best mobile DACs from its price category. Deep, but rather textured bass, analog warm, expressive midrange and slightly tidied up high frequencies. Why the presentation turned out to be quite lively, natural and simply overly emotional. I can definitely recommend it, I am completely delighted with it.
