MTP 020: The Fall of Great Britain - Part 2
In 2025, Britain will likely sail into very rough economic waters. Its fiscal position is "catastrophic," and Starmer government's budget amounts to "the largest fiscal loosening in decades..." The government counted on capital markets to raise the debt needed to fund its profligacy but the markets are thus far giving a vote of no confidence to the government. How soon will hyperinflation set in? We'll find out, but the unravelling could be for the history books, perhaps on par with the collapse of the Weimar Republic 100 years ago or the 1929 Crash and the ensuing depression.
There will be pain, but there will also be tradable opportunities with UK gilts, British pounds and the FTSE 100. We'll see large scale price events that will unfold as trends.
