The test had to come, low light test with GoPro Hero 12 and Dji Osmo Action 4. Normally, action cameras are not suitable for low light. This is not an extremely low light. But the sun has gone down. So how will this go, do the cameras cope with this. Or are they useless in such conditions.
Max ISO is set to 3200, so it is not extremely high ISO. But above this, the image is far too grainy. The way I see it, one camera is significantly better than the other. And the ultimate winner is the Dji Osmo Action 4. But it is not just the image quality that is decisive. The stabilization is also important, and here the Dji Osmo Action 4 is also the winner.
But is there any point in using an action camera in low light. It can work, in some cases when you have nothing else. I am 100% sure this will only get better and better. This is what the customers want, and then the companies must deliver. So it will be exciting to see what comes next year.
