🆘 EXTREMELY COLD & HARSH conditions at the CATTLE farm....STILL!! 🥶
The extremely cold & harsh Polar Vortex is still lingering over the prairies. It is making every aspect of operating the Cattle Ranch a challenge. We had issues with our HUGE cattle waterer almost freezing up. So I will touch base as to what happened to the water bowl, how It was corrected and a few issues or defects that need to be corrected in order for our Huge cattle waterer to properly deal with this COLD of weather. I also show you our nightly routine which all the water bowls on the farm under go when the temperatures plunge into the deep negatives such as it it now. We also talk a little bit about how and what we are rationing our weaned calves in the calf lot. I demonstrate how trained they are from a couple weeks ago when it comes to pail training them for ease of handling. With these COLD conditions lets not forget about cattle FEED. We head out and FEED up the girls some fresh HAY as cattle stay warm through the intake of hay and feed, therefore all the basic cold weather protocols will be covered in this video. I also want to talk a little bit about the challenges and methods we use to properly manage our cattle farm no matter how harsh or cold the weather conditions are.
