In the past 24 hours, 2,000 users in Russia have complained about Telegram's performance. Most often, these complaints relate to website and mobile app crashes, as well as notifications. Users in Russia have been complaining about Telegram slowdowns since early February.
Telegram is kaput in Russia: the messenger won't work even through a VPN, the State Duma announced. "Roskomnadzor has the technical capability to monitor VPN traffic. They'll just start throttling it. Telegram will also slow down through a VPN. If anyone thinks everyone will simply download a VPN and continue using the messenger, I have bad news for you. Nothing will work. Only legal VPN services, which are essential for media work, will remain. Roskomnadzor can track everything. Telegram won't outsmart anyone – it won't work at all," one deputy said. Cheburnet will prevail.
