VIDEO ONE OF A THREE-PART TRAINING SERIES.
Video #2 Demonstrating Remote Team Culture • How to Demonstrate Remote Company Culture
Video #3 Giving Away Company Culture • Give Away Remote Company Culture
What is company culture? Has your organizational culture changed recently with teams working remotely?
Culture is relationship and behavior. But think about it, culture is a relationship with whom?
Culture gets misunderstood as a relationship inside your physical office. The physical environment of your workplace might be part of your culture, but there's more. Culture is a relationship on your team, between you and your fellow leaders, between you and your own team, between you and other teams, and between your team and other teams.
Culture can be spoken (sharing "how" you have relationships with each other) or unspoken (where you make your team guess how they should have relationships with others.)
This means, if your company is currently distributed, your remote company culture is your culture.
When we talk about defining culture, if culture is a relationship rather than a building or a values list, we need to redefine culture in this "work from anywhere" setting.
Instead of having 100 people in the same floor, we now have 100 different locations and we need to redefine what culture is going to look like now. To redefine culture right now, leaders must do three things, define, demonstrate, and give away ownership of the culture.
