I design in English and ship in Arabic, so I kept rebuilding every screen by hand. I looked for a plugin first — nothing held up on a heavy design system, or did the one thing I actually needed. So I built my own.
Get it on Figma Community:
https://www.figma.com/community/plugi...
It writes Direction=RTL variants into your own component sets instead of leaving you with detached copies, so your library stays intact. There's a Detach path if you'd rather it never touched your components at all.
Built for heavy design systems — yielding walks instead of document wide crawls, no blocking calls over large trees, cancellable mid-run, and a report at the end showing what it created, what it reused, and what it skipped as direction-neutral, with a "Flip anyway" button for when it judged wrong.
In the same pass:
Directional icons swap to their real counterpart component, not scaled to -100%
Brand and social icons only change order — never flipped, never detached
Fonts swapped for the target script, with matching text styles created
Optional translation — MyMemory with no setup, or DeepL/Google with your own key
URLs, emails, {placeholders}, %s and your glossary terms held out of translation
Components from an external library can't be edited by any plugin — directional ones get detached and flipped in place, neutral ones are left whole.
Before your first run: creating Direction variants edits your components permanently. Duplicate the file first, or use the Detach path.
