IoT based Smart Irrigation System
The Smart Irrigation System is capable enough to automate the complete irrigation system. Here we are building an IoT based Irrigation System using ESP8266 NodeMCU Module and DHT11 Sensor. The System will consist of a water pump which will be used to sprinkle water on the land depending upon the state of land and environmental conditions such as moisture, temperature, and humidity. It also sends data to web server to help keep track of the land condition.
Agriculture is the backbone of our country; 50-60 percentage of our economy depends on the agriculture. Producing agricultural products to meet the need of our ever-growing population is necessary at a larger quantity.
The smartphone irrigation sensor is a key player in this gigantic task. In this proposed model, internet of things (IoT) is responsible to reduce the wastage of water, protecting crops from birds and animals, minimizing the manual labour on field for irrigation. Different methods are employed on transferring the parameter between controller, devices, and internet. In this work, Wi-Fi communication method is applied for signal transfer. A prototype with advanced microcontroller has been developed for the proposed study.
